What is CashTrack?+
CashTrack is a free web app for tracking your income, everyday expenses, and money you give to family — all in one simple dashboard. It works on your phone or computer, can be added to your home screen like an app, and lets you share a read-only view with family members if you want.
Is CashTrack really free?+
Yes. CashTrack doesn't charge for tracking your income, expenses, or family transfers, and there's no ad-supported tier with limited features. We built it because most budgeting apps either cost money or don't have a good way to track money given to family.
How do I track money I give to family?+
Use the "Family" entry type when logging a transaction. This keeps money you give to your parents, kids, spouse, or anyone else separate from your regular expenses (like food or bills), so you can see exactly how much of your income goes toward supporting family versus your own spending. This works whether you're handing someone cash, sending an e-transfer, or wiring money internationally — it's all just "Family" in CashTrack.
Does CashTrack only work for international remittances?+
No — CashTrack works for any money you give to family, whether that's sending funds abroad to parents, giving your teenager an allowance, covering a sibling's rent, or splitting expenses with a spouse. The "Family" category isn't tied to international transfers; it's simply for any money that leaves your pocket and goes to someone in your family.
Can I share my tracker with my family?+
Yes. You can set a viewer password and share a read-only link to your dashboard. This is useful if a spouse, parent, or family member wants to see the household finances without being able to edit entries.
What categories can I use for expenses?+
CashTrack includes Food, Transport, Shopping, Bills, Health, and Other for expenses, plus separate Income and Family types so your giving to others is never mixed in with your personal spending.
Can I see my spending trends over time?+
Yes. The Overview tab includes a category breakdown chart you can filter by this month, last month, 3/6/12 months, or all time, so you can spot patterns — like whether your spending or the amount you send to family is increasing.
Is my financial data private?+
Yes. Your data is stored securely with row-level security, meaning only you (and anyone you explicitly share a viewer link with) can see your entries. Read more in our

Can I use CashTrack on my phone?+
Yes. CashTrack works in any mobile browser, and you can add it to your home screen for an app-like experience — just open cashtrack.lol and use your browser's "Add to Home Screen" option.
Do I need to create an account?+
Yes, a free account is required so your data is saved securely and accessible across devices. Sign-up takes less than a minute — just an email and password.
